The quest for change has been the concern of every successive leadership in Nigeria, yet positive changes are very slow in the nation. Using the popular reading and evaluative model as a methodology to peep at Matthew 3:1-9, this paper aimed at sensitizing Nigerian Christians and other religious groups to join in the crusade for change in Nigeria. This paper posited that resistance to change, corruption, sectionalism, feeling of hurts, lip service, recycling of Leadership can constitute some challenges to change in Nigeria. The paper also showed that these challenges can be solved if all Nigerians imbibe the culture of attitudinal and orientational change from the heart. The bible passage in view drove home the message of repentance and confession of sins through baptism and it was contextualized to adopt the afro-cultural regalia so as to evangelize the people of Nigeriawithin their cultures. It concluded on the presupposition that change is realizable in Nigeriaif those who talk about change would allow the change to begin from them.Â
